Jake Kleint, LCSW he/him

The relationship between therapist and client is of the utmost importance when entering into therapy, therefore I put emphasis on building a strong, healthy, safe, and supportive relationship that is free of judgment and honoring of my clients unique experiences. I adapt to meet the needs of each client I work with, as I do not believe therapy is one size fits all. As someone with a neurodiverse brain, I know first hand some of the challenges that come with living in a neurotypical world and believe that I offer a unique perspective for my clients. I encourage open feedback and collaboration with my clients and there is no shortage of empathy or humor in my practice. My general approach is direct, relational, person-centered, and trauma-informed. Aligning myself with the goals of my clients is vital to help them make desired changes and inform a more meaningful quality of life.

Professionally, I have experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in high levels of psychiatric care for several years before transitioning into my current practice. I continue to work with these populations and also with adult clients and couples. I primarily treat those struggling with emotional and behavioral issues, neurodiversity, ADHD, anxiety, depression, parenting/family conflict, attachment/relationship issues, school frustrations, self-esteem, and PTSD. I am trained in and primarily utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and elements of many other therapies (just ask me if you are looking for something specific).

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Oregon. I received my bachelors degree in psychology from Oregon State University (Go Beavs!) and received my masters in social work from Portland State University. As a native Oregonian, I enjoy spending time exploring our beautiful state and all that it has to offer. I enjoy various sports, cooking and baking, gardening and plants, animals, and Harry Potter. I have two Pugs, Charley and Emma, who I am completely obsessed with and who love coming to work with me. My family and friends are vital to my wellbeing and I work hard to make them a priority in my life.

While it is hard to determine whether we would be a good fit just on reading this bio alone, I hope that this provides some insight into my approach. If you feel like we could be a good fit, I encourage you to submit an inquiry on our contact page. I look forward to the opportunity of working with you, your child, or family.

Best Wishes and Warm Regards,

Jake
