Cicely she/her

Student Intern

Cicely is an advanced-year MSW graduate student at Portland State University School of Social Work. She specializes in gerontology through the College of Urban and Public Affairs. Cicely is a registered horticultural therapist (HTR) through the American Horticultural Therapy Association and a registered yoga teacher (RYT) through the Yoga Alliance, and she is pursuing training as a yoga therapist through the Institute for Living Yoga and the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). She offers a unique, holistic wellness experience that integrates therapeutic horticulture, nature therapy, and therapeutic yoga, providing a fresh approach to well-being. Her client-centered, trauma-informed approach to supporting adults in midlife and beyond emphasizes the body-mind-brain connection, integrates mindfulness and spirituality, empowers individuals to manage life challenges and transitions successfully, and fosters resilience for greater well-being.

Cicely draws on the principles of interpersonal neurobiology (Dan Siegel), internal family systems (Richard Schwartz), and polyvagal theory (Stephen Porges) to support clients in their healing journeys. Cicely is passionate about helping people overcome anxiety and depression, self-sabotaging behaviors, and the challenges of recovery from chronic illness, as well as those that accompany aging, life transitions, loss, and grief.

She finds restoration outdoors, whether in the garden, on the bike path, or snowboarding the mountain. She is also passionate about music, art, and making healthy, delicious foods.
